Trout and Salmon are the major name fish found in the river Beas, Tirthan, Parwati and Gadas in Kullu, Lambadag in Mandi and Pabbar in Shimla. Mahseer is found in the Kangra district at Dehra, Gopipur and the Pong Dam. Licenses for fishing in waters can be procured from respective Fisheries Offices. Also other major fishing points are the River Brahmaputra in Assam, Pashighat in Arunachal Pradesh and Cauvery Fishing camp at Bhimeshwari is a paradise for anglers where getting a 20-30 kg of Mahseer is not uncommon.
