LADAKH

Leh is one of the two districts located in Ladakh, the other being the Kargil District to the west, in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, India. With an area of 45,110 km2, it is the second largest district in the country (after Kutch, Gujarat) in terms of area. It is bounded on the north by Ghanche District (Gilgit-Baltistan), a small border with Xinjiang, China, via the Karakoram Pass which is part of the district. Aksai Chin and Tibet are to the east, Kargil district to the west, and Lahul and Spiti to the south. The district headquarters is in Leh. It lies between 32 to 36 degree north latitude and 75 to 80 degree east longitude.

  1. Day 1 Pickup from Srinagar airport. Srinagar to Sonamarg (84km)

    After pick up from airport drive to Sonamarg & transferred to Hotel in Sonamarg & over night stay at Sonamarg.

  2. Day 2 Sonamarg to Kargil (120 km)

    After breakfast drive to Kargil via Zojila pass, Drass, (Second coldest inhabitant place in the world), visit vijay Smarak (war memorial of drass, kargil) and over nigh stay at Kargil Hotel.

  3. Day 3 Kargil to Leh (230 km)

    After breakfast drive to Leh on the way visit Fotula pass, Namkila pass and Lunch, after lunch enroute Moonland, Sangam of Indus & Zanskar River, Magnetic hill, Pathar sahib Gurudwara, and over night stay at Leh Hotel.

  4. Day 4 Leh to Nubra valley (126 km)

    After breakfast drive to Diskit Nubra via Khardung-La pass 18,380ft (world highest motor able road) and reach at Diskit/hunder. After lunch visit famous Sandune of Ladakh in Hunder & camel safari in sandune. over night stay at Diskit/Hunder Hotel or Camp.

  5. Day 5 Nubra to Leh (126 km)

    After breakfast visit Diskit monastery and back to Leh by same rout & lunch at Leh hotel after lunch relax and visit Leh Palace & Shanti Stupa or shopping at Leh market. Over night stay at Leh hotel.

  6. Day 6 Leh to Pangong Lake

    After early breakfast leave for Pangong Lake via Chang-la pass (alt: 17370 ft./ 5486 meters), 3rd highest motorable pass in the world. Pangong Lake (alt: 14,500 ft.), largest brackish water lake of Asia, is 4-5kms wide and about 135 kms long of which two-third portion lies on the other side of the Indo-China border. On the way visit the 12-storied Thicksey Monastery dating from the 16th century, the 17th century monastery and then the Hemis Monastery, biggest and richest monastery in Ladakh. After sightseeing around the lake and dinner, over night stay at the camp.

  7. Day 7 Pangong lake to Hanle (150 km apprx.)

    After breakfast drive to Hanle village. Hanle village is famous for wildlife tour; you can visit many birds & animals in Hanle village. Over night stay at Hanle.

  8. Day 8 Hanle to Tso-moriri

    Early morning departure to Tso-moriri via Mahe bridge, on the way can be visit Chumathang hot spring Barheaded Goose, Brahmini Duck, Great Crested Greb, Red Shank, Plover, Pond Herion, Common Sandpiper, etc. over night stay at Tso-moriri.

  9. Day 9 Tso-moriri to Jispa (243 km apprx)

    Early morning drive to Jispa via Tso-kar, Pang, Lachung-la and Neeka-la pass, over night at Jispa.

  10. Day 10 Jispa to Manali (130 km apprx)

    After breakfast drive to Manali via Baralacha pass (16,200 ft), Darcha, Kelong, Koksar, Rothang pass (13,050 ft) Madri & Manali.

Please note that this is an outdoor and adventure trip and to enjoy such trips, one requires being reasonably fit both physically and mentally, along with a previous experience of outdoors. On the other side the trips are carried out in some of the most amazing and extraordinary locations and in very special times such as winter and at the same time they do provide a bit of challenge to our endurance, fitness and our ability to cope with some adverse conditions. Though we will provide the best equipment and manpower, and do our best to leave no stone unturned. But still before taking up this trip we want to make very clear that nothing is certain in trips like this. Such as bad weather and cold and other logistical uncertainties such as power cut and water supply cut etc. Though we will try to do our best to provide water by buckets and lights by solar batteries etc. but still before signing up one should be experienced enough to carry himself or herself in outdoor conditions and well aware of these uncertainties and hence cooperate if any such situation arises due to the reasons beyond human control.
